North Durham United FC awards three Scholarships annually to three graduating secondary school students. These awards are disseminated  through Port Perry High School, Uxbridge Secondary School, and by the Club directly to the recipient.

Keith Freemantle was a dynamic member of the Uxbridge Soccer Club community who embodied the Club's mission to help children and adults  develop their character as resourceful and responsible members of their community by providing opportunities through the game of soccer for the mental, physical, social and leadership development. Keith was a person who cheered everyone on and saw the good in all. He loved to chat with everyone and encouraged others to be involved in the soccer community. He volunteered selflessly, giving back to the community. He was a role model, exemplifying fun, fair-play, and great sportsmanship.

This scholarship, established in memory of Keith Freemantle, seeks to honour those that exemplify his life as mentor, sportsman, volunteer, and friend. North Durham United FC is proud to carry on his legacy with this award to an Uxbridge youth.
